Final Fantasy VII Remake Introduces New SOLDIER Roche, Other Shinra Members

While many fans are thrilled that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake is now less than three months away from release, much of the added content to the title remains a mystery. The Midgar portion of the original Final Fantasy VII of course takes several hours to complete, though before you know it Cloud and friends are on the world map and running around avoiding Midgar Zoloms. While Square Enix continues to stay quiet on the matter, the publisher has thankfully released a batch of new screenshots showing off some of the more prominent members on Shinra, while also revealing one of the new characters, 3rd Class SOLDIER Roche.

Square Enix took to Twitter today to show off more content from the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake. Earlier, the publisher released some epic classic artwork remakes featuring both Tifa and Sephiroth. These new Shinra photos are a bit different, with each character appearing with a black background. Check ’em out below:

President Shinra (Rufus’ father) looks basically how you’d expect thanks to previous trailers, while Heidegger looks decidedly less portly and much more imposing than he does in the original game. Roche, on the other hand, is still a big mystery. Since not much is known about him at this time, chances are he’ll represent a moderate threat to Cloud and the rest of AVALANCHE has the events within Midgar unfold. Oh, did we mention there are new Sephiroth shots? Because there are new shots of Sephiroth:

Y’know, Sephiroth would be much cooler if he didn’t have his penchant for killing people. Anyways, the Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated to release on March 3, 2020 for the PlayStation 4.
