The Final Fantasy VII Remake has been out for a few days now, and save for an unfortunate low percentage of players, most of the folks that pre-ordered the physical copy of the game have received it and been playing through it in earnest. One such player is none other than Aerith voice actor Briana White, who posted a video clip earlier today of her first encounter with the character she plays in her first meeting with Cloud Strife. Very light spoilers for the Final Fantasy VII Remake below.

The video itself is about two minutes in length, kicking off a little while after the first Bombing Mission where Cloud is trying to get back to the Sector 7 Slums. Briana White is understandably excited to be seeing her character talking and moving around for the first time, to the point where she starts crying when she hears Aerith’s theme song start to play in the background.

Briana being moved to tears during her playthrough of the Final Fantasy VII Remake is certainly something we can relate to. The remake itself has been a long time coming, and for many – myself included – it’s been a truly surreal experience. Surreal, and filled with tears.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
