Is ‘FIFA Street’ Next for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility?
Is FIFA Street the next title to become backwards compatible on the Xbox One? Well, it certainly seems so. Online servers for FIFA Street have been discovered to be back online after nearly three years of being shut down by EA.
Microsoft has been busting out backwards compatible games for a little bit now and eager fans are constantly waiting and speculating about which Xbox 360 titles will be included in the next batch of re-releases. If a recent Reddit post is any indication, we might be playing soccer on the Xbox One pretty soon…
When firing up their copy of FIFA Street, Reddit user Cryaotix discovered that the game was able to connect to EA’s online servers, something that hadn’t been possible since they were shut down in March of 2014.
FIFA Street servers back online!!!

The existence of active EA servers combined with the worldwide popularity of the FIFA series could easily point towards a reappearance on the Xbox One. Removal of FIFA Street‘s name from EA’s list of online service shutdowns could also be further evidence of the game’s return. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
FIFA Street was released in 2012 and served as a reboot to the “Street” series of soccer games. Gameplay showcased an emphasis on tricks and skill-based moves and featured a more fast-paced gameplay when compared to the main FIFA games.
Do you think FIFA Street is coming to Xbox One? Are you waiting for another game to be added instead? Do you know why we call it “soccer” instead of “football”? Because I don’t. Lend us your wisdom in the comments below and be sure to kick a soccer ball over to these other FIFA-related articles!
