This Fallout 76 Mod Adds Classic Fallout Sounds (VIDEO)

Fallout 76

Those who have been getting down on Bethesda’s latest adventure in the Fallout series have noticed that things are a bit different this time around. Holotape missions galore, online-only gameplay geared towards teaming up, and much more have been brought to the wasteland in Fallout 76, but one modder is aiming to bring some classic franchise elements to West Virginia.

Modder EksCelle recently posted their Fallout 76 mod to Nexus, and it adds the ambient soundtrack from the first two entries in the series to the game. While this isn’t the biggest addition to the title, it will surely bring a bit of familiarity to those who may feel lost in the new experience. Check out a demonstration of the mod in the video below:

Here’s a bit more about the new mod:

“This mod replaces all ambient tracks for Fallout 76 with the ambient soundtrack from Fallout 1 and 2.

Unfortunately, at this time there is no way to disable combat music, and so it has been untouched. As soon as I find out a way to do so, I will update this mod.”

After watching the video above, it’s clear that the ambient sounds from Fallout 1 and 2 work rather well in the new game. They add an eeriness, especially if one were traversing the woods at night and hear a Scorchbeast flapping its wings above the trees. Granted, that experience is pretty terrifying on its own, but add the sounds of prior Fallouts and it becomes nightmare fuel in a heartbeat.
