The Elder Scrolls Online Free Weekend Begins Today – Celebrates 10 Million Players (VIDEO)

The Elder Scrolls Online has amassed over 10 million players over the course of its history, and it has been an incredible milestone for ZeniMax as they took the reigns in developing it into the community it is today. To celebrate this special event, The Elder Scrolls Online free play weekend will open up today and last until Wednesday, December 6th. Undoubtedly, it was much too exciting to stave off the news and celebrations until the weekend officially began. Anyone and everyone can download the game, and brand new accounts will receive 500 Crowns to be used for the in-game store.

This hallmark in the history of The Elder Scrolls Online is more than just a free play week. In fact, throughout the duration of the event, TESO will host a variety of dungeon events, and even a “10 Million Stories Sweepstakes” that offers the winning participants a real-life prize. Every player has a chance to win one out of 300 rewards including a grand prize trip to PAX East for two, a recreation of a player’s character as an NPC, and every single digital item offered in the ESO Crown store.

By taking part in in-game dungeons, players are rewarded “Mysterious Reward Boxes”, and contains anywhere between experience scrolls, mounts, pets, costumes, or a rare “jackpot” of 20 homes or 20 mounts. To stretch out a player’s participation even further, each dungeon completed also throws in an extra ten entries into the sweepstakes.

As for the other prizes, each person has the opportunity to receive such things as an ESO wrapped PC or console of choice, Morrowind necklace, Guard plush, memberships, and many more.
