Eddie Murphy Creates Horrifying Sonic The Hedgehog Cake On SNL (VIDEO)

Sonic the Hedgehog was making waves the other day with baby Sonic as we wait on the premier of the live-action film of the blue blur. It’s had a fair share of controversies since the initial announcement with criticism and backlash regarding character design and strangely human teeth. So why not poke some fun at Paramount and Sega’s expense by fusing a competitive baking show and Sonic together in a Saturday Night Live skit? It turns out Eddie Murphy can make one mean-looking cake. Literally. See for yourself:

Titled the “Holiday Baking Championship,” Saturday Night Live delivers another hilarious doozy featuring Eddie Murphy, Cecily Strong, Kyle Mooney, and Heidi Gardner as contestants on a holiday-themed baking show. Murphy’s creation goes from a mild “Good god, Mitch” level to “It’s speaking in your grandmama’s voice to trick you and drag you to hell” territory real quick.

This isn’t the first time Saturday Night Live’s poked fun at mainstream video games. In October, Chance the Rapper poked fun at League of Legends World Championship and e-sports in general. Chance played Lazlo Holmes, a clueless reporter trying to get accustomed to the digital sports culture of the popular MOBA game.

Do you think you could make a better Sonic the Hedgehog cake? Sandy probably does. What did you think of the SNL skit itself?
