Dark Souls playera often haunt the popular modding site Nexus Mods to find the latest in game altercation. Created by modder Abject (or AbjectSama on Nexus Mods), the latest addition of modifications to this insanely difficult game twists up the original title by giving it a very strong feel of the shooter that will forever stand as one of the most iconic in the genre. Titled Doom Souls, this particular mod takes the hellish land of Lordran and gives the player a chance to take on the enemies within in either first person or third person. And of course this wouldn’t be the perfect Doom mod without some big guns to go along with it. Check out the mod below to see it in action:

From what it looks like in the video, Doom Souls combines Doom 2016 and the original Dark Souls and includes a Doom-inspired HUD and objective icons, gunfire sound effects, and a functioning reticule in third-person. As for the character design, the character in the video can be seen wearing what looks like modder TehForcer’s Crystalline Helm without the crystals mod. As of right now there is no set release date for this particular mod from Abject, but for those who are interested in what he can create, check out this Shovel Souls Mod and give it a try!
