There’s been a bit of a lull in DLC characters for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Earlier this year, Square Enix announced that Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII would officially be joining the roster complete with her look from the original game. Now, the developers are looking to add in a character that’s a bit more ‘timeless’ with the inclusion of Ardyn Izunia from Final Fantasy XV.

Square Enix recently took to Twitter to announce that Ardyn Izunia from Final Fantasy XV is being added to the roster of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Alongside the reveal of both of Ardyn’s initial outfit choices, the developer also released an epic gameplay trailer showing off his moves, many of which contain similarities with Noctis’ moveset. Without getting into spoiler territory, Ardyn and Noctis both have a fairly similar moveset, though the former has the added ability of utilizing long-range magic. This allows Ardyn to pepper his opponents with bravery attacks from afar before warping in close for the kill.

Ardyn Izunia will be available for the Arcade version of Dissidia Final Fantasy on December 24, while those playing the PC or PS4 version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be able to purchase and download him starting on January 9, 2020.
