Fans of horror films, both old and new, may be more inclined to play Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight. The game features a 4v1 format where one player takes on the role of a brutal killer, while the other four are tasked with escaping. The title already contains the likes of horror icons Michael Myers, Leatherface, and more, but a new chapter was recently teased, which means more is to come.

The Dead by Daylight Instagram account recently posted a short clip that teases a new chapter for the game. Some fans had speculated about the authenticity of the teaser, but Behaviour was all over it, confirming the legitimacy of the account over on Reddit. Check out the clip for yourself below:

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to go off of in the clip. Some scratch marks are seen, loud footsteps heard, and a quick swipe of the door to nothingness gives fans enough to speculate over. Many are theorizing that the upcoming killer could be based on Japanese horror, possibly the likes of The Ring or The Grudge. Either way, should be fun times ahead for players.

“Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed.

Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey. The Survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.”
