Cyberpunk 2077 Is More Like A Noir Tale, Says CD Projekt RED

Cyberpunk 2077

With The Game Awards right around the corner, many can’t help but wonder if Cyberpunk 2077 will be making an appearance. Since we have to wait until next month to find out, let’s get down to what has already happened, as CD Projekt RED recently took part in an interview where many things were discussed, including the upcoming futuristic RPG.

CDPR head Adam Badowski talked with Polsat Games about not only his background, but also what may be the most realistic RPG players will see for some time. The interview is in Polish, but Reddit was quick to provide some translations. When discussing the game, while it does take place in the future, it won’t necessarily be about, well… the future. According to Badowski, Cyberpunk 2077 will be more along the lines of a noir tale about people.

He went on to say how the studio can’t allow themselves to produce nonsense, and that it must be a believable experience. This is in line with previous statements from the developer, with it being said that the title will be as realistic as possible. It’s also been mentioned how philosophy will play a big role and the game will feature a balance between it and the action side of the cyberpunk genre. Speaking of which, Badowski said CDPR is aiming to create their own version of cyberpunk.

That would be why we’ve seen video showing sunlight over Night City, even when the genre is known for its rainy neon-filled streets. However, fans needn’t worry, as there will be rain in Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, there will be an entire dynamic weather system, which should provide for some rather interesting gameplay.

Cyberpunk 2077 remains without a release date, but it is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
