Cyberpunk 2077 Voted “Most Wanted Game” At Golden Joystick Awards
There is no denying the amount of hype that surrounds CD Projekt RED’s upcoming futuristic RPG based on Mike Pondsmith’s 30-year-old tabletop adventure. After the reveal of the 48-minute demo, Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been craving more. That is likely why the title recently picked up a fitting award.
During the 36th Annual Golden Joystick Awards, the forthcoming Night City-based experience was voted as the “Most Wanted Game.” It beat out the likes of Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2, Doom Eternal, and many more in voting. Cyberpunk 2077 has also been in development for about six years, with fans only recently seeing actual gameplay just a few months ago. The studio had this to say about receiving the award:
The entire Cyberpunk 2077 team would like to thank each and every person participating in the Golden Joystick Awards for voting for Cyberpunk 2077, as well as all the support thus far – none of this would be possible without you!”
This is certainly an exciting achievement to receive for fans and developers alike. There have been games in the past that spend a lengthy time in development, but hype levels lower the closer to release they get. Considering CD Projekt RED’s previous work on The Witcher franchise, fans have a reason to believe in and trust the studio. That could be part of the reason why Cyberpunk 2077 has sustained the test of time so far.
It could also have something to do with the mystery the game has been surrounded by since it was announced, or the impressive reality that CDPR is putting into the title, or many other things. Either way, when the game officially launches, there will be many people navigating Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 still remains without a release date, but it is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
