Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Discuss Main Story, Side Quests, And The Night City Police

Cyberpunk 2077

Despite feeling like Cyberpunk 2077 is years away there’s nothing wrong with feeling excitement for the upcoming adventure a bit early. CD Projekt RED has been generous with the release of information ever since the new trailer dropped at E3 earlier this year. The devs have been taking to the gaming world to unveil the glorious details we all desire, including the 48-minute gameplay demo that was once kept behind closed doors.

That said, Level Designer Miles Tost recently spoke with GamingBolt about the relationship between the main story and side quests that players will encounter. “Side quests are great opportunities for us to tell stories of our cyberpunk world,” he said. “After all, despite not being a part of the main questline, they are still connected to the world and can elaborate on certain parts of it, like the characters. So it’s all interwoven. And yes, that also means that our side quests could affect the main story.”

As we all know, Night City will be packed with a plethora of people, some of which are probably not so nice. This just means that the local authorities will certainly be out in full force to catch the baddies, including players. “It’s really important to us to portray a world that you feel a part of, so naturally, the world also has to react to your presence,” Tost stated. “Regarding this particular example, let me just say the Night City police don’t react lightly to people stepping out of the line. Their cyber implants, as well as advanced weaponry make them not a pushover, either.”

Well, it looks like it might not be wise to get on the wrong side of the law. Of course, when it comes to the world CDPR has created, we imagine abiding by the rules is going to be a little difficult. Unless there is a way to obtain a “normal” job to pay the bills, that is. Wait, can we work in a futuristic Jamba Juice? Probably not, but only time will tell.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but remains without a launch date. Rumors are claiming 2019, but keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more. If it’s other gaming goodness going on right now that you’re interested in, check out the following:
