New Borderlands 2 ‘Commander Lilith’ DLC Leaked Ahead Of E3 Reveal
With Borderlands 3 on the horizon, hype is surely mounting for the game’s appearance at E3 where new gameplay and surprises are expected to tear the roof off the gaming expo. However it appears at least one of these surprises was unveiled early with the leak of an all-new Borderlands 2 DLC, one that would set-up Gearbox’s upcoming third outing–a “pre-threequel” if you will.
Ahead of the DLC’s expected reveal at E3, it appears this rumored Borderlands 2 adventure has been seemingly confirmed, a new leak revealing the game’s existence on Steam. According to RobotBrush over on Twitter (via ResetEra), a new Borderlands 2 DLC titled “Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary” was briefly listed on the PC storefront, it clearly going live much earlier than intended. A number of screenshots from the listing can be viewed below.

The aforementioned Steam page has since been taken down, though there was some interesting information to be learned from the listing’s all-too-brief existence. All signs point to the Commander Lilith DLC releasing free for owners of Borderlands 2 and landing for fans on June 9th; a date that happens to coincide several prominent pre-E3 conferences. If everything ends up aligning as expected, perhaps a full reveal will take place on the same day, giving Borderlands 2 fans even more reason to catch a ride aboard the hype train.
for now – nothing … it’s just a leak, someone published the store page a bit early 😛
but it’ll be out on the 9th … and it’ll be free 🙂

Borderlands 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as part of The Handsome Collection. Borderlands 3 will release for the same platforms on September 13th.
