Brand New Blue Exorcist Game Revealed (VIDEO)

Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) was an extremely popular anime that spanned from 2011 to 2017 with two seasons – the titular first season and Kyoto Saga respecively. While it didn’t gain nearly the same momentum in the United States and other Western countries as it did in Japan compared to series like One Piece and Naruto, it certainly has enough of a following to lend itself a game announcement! During Jump Festa 2019, Ao no Excorist: Damned Chord was announced by Aniplex and Esprit Games. Here’s the first teaser so far alongside the first featured key art, check it out below:

For the time being, it looks like the announcement is being catered to audiences in Japan. Depending on the demand, there’s the chance that Blue Exorcist: Damned Chord will make it to various other countries as well. An exact release date has not been revealed just yet, since it just premiered its first sneak-peek during Jump Festa this weekend.

While there exists a summary of the general gameplay narrative on the official Japanese website, it’s not clear without proper English translation. What we do know is that it involves mobile devices and cards. Additionally, Blue Exorcist: Damned Chord will be an entirely free-to-play game that allows in-app purchases. It involves original character designs and narrative direction from the mangaka Kazue Kato herself. Nice.
