Battlefield V: Battlepacks Are Gone, Players Will “Choose Their Rewards Directly”

Battlefield V

Gamers were recently treated to the first look at Battlefield V, the next installment from EA DICE. The game, which is set during World War II, will be mixing things up a bit this time around. According to the developer, the title will not have Battlepacks from which players can obtain customizable goodies.

The most recent iteration of Battlepacks were found in Battlefield 1. Over the years, the little loot-bringers usually contained everything from weapon attachments to vehicle and weapon skins. This time around, players will instead “choose their rewards directly or through rank up events.” This was learned after someone asked EA DICE if battlepacks would be part of the game, to which they replied:

Unfortunately, the news that Battlepacks will not be part of Battlefield V and that players will be choosing their own rewards has some worried that War Bonds could be making a return. A couple people had something to say about the matter on Twitter:

No other details have been provided by EA DICE, but we can expect to learn more at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, which is set to kick off in two weeks. Battlefield V will be launching on October 19 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
