Baldur’s Gate 3 Is Larian’s Biggest RPG to Date, According to Studio

Baldur's Gate 3

Larian Studios began teasing something just last week, with a mysterious logo appearing on their website. However, fans turned into sleuths in an instant, digging through every possible piece of information to uncover what it all means. Now that we know their discoveries were correct, Larian has begun talking about their upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3, including how it is their biggest RPG yet.

Speaking with GameSpot, Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke discussed many topics about Baldur’s Gate 3, especially how it’s going to be pretty big. “We’re in production,” Vincke said. “This is the biggest RPG we’ve ever made, so our team is now over 200 people internally and together with all the externals, we’re heading over 300 people. It’s a very big production. It’s the biggest that we’ve ever done.”

In addition to this, Vincke also touched on the scope of things and what players can expect. “Freedom of choice, agency, that’s the key pillar,” he said. “Whether you’re playing single player or in multiplayer, having the freedom to affect the world and the world reacting to your actions as you embark on this fantastic narrative and having many, many different ways to play such that when you talk to one of your friends about how your session went, you say, ‘Are we playing the same game?’ Mostly because of of the choices you make, that’s the ideal scenario.”

Needless to say, Baldur’s Gate 3 is sounding like an absolute dream for RPG fans. Unfortunately, it won’t be releasing this year, but keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more. For other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
