Free August PS Plus Titles Include Games Like Just Cause 3, Assassin’s Creed, Downwell, and More

It’s that time of the month again! Sony has just released their latest updates for PlayStation Plus Free titles for August, and the list includes some terrific titles for absolutely free. In Sony’s latest PS Plus blog update, the post starts off with an advertisement for That’s You!, a totally immersive journey for up to six players. That’s You! comes free for PlayStation Plus members, and utilizes PlayStation 4 and IOs/Android operating systems to keep the party going.

For Sony’s free titles for the August PS Plus lineup, the top two games released for free are Just Cause 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, both on the PlayStation 4. For the entire month of August, players have a chance to download and play as either Rico Rodriguez or Adewale and combat the riveting tales each game holds dear. The full roster of free games include:

  • Just Cause 3, PS4
  • Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, PS4
  • Super Motherload, PS3
  • Snakeball, PS3
  • Downwell, PS Vita (can be played on PlayStation 4)
  • Level 22, PS Vita

Alongside these free titles, Sony is also offering a Summer Movie Rental deal where PS Plus members can rent the latest blockbuster titles for only $.99. For six weeks, gamers will have the chance to see titles such as Logan and Ghost in the Shell  and those rented titles will remain in “My Videos” for up to a month.

Finally, Sony’s Dreadnaught will offer a $20 PlayStation Plus pack starting August 15th, and a weekend long event kicking off these great August deals will allow Sony gamers to play Doom for free. This Free-To-Play weekend event runs from July 27th through July 30th. There is a ton of great content, and with Sony giving away these titles, make sure to check out PS Plus when August hits!
