Assassin’s Creed Gets an Extreme Demakeover With PS1 Style Graphics (VIDEO)
For those who love video games, viewing our favorite titles redone in varying graphical overhauls is always a treat, especially when it comes to seeing older styles brought back to life with enhanced graphics. Remasters such as Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy have piqued the interest of many fans who wish to relive the magic of those PlayStation 1 titles. But what about a demakeover of a more modern title? An avid game fanatic has accomplished that feat by giving the popular title Assassin’s Creed a good old fashioned demakeover, recreating the stealth action game as if it had been made in the late 90’s. Check out the video below to see this hilarious iteration in action:
Needless to say, seeing this title with such lo-fi graphics makes for one hell of a funny show. With weaker visuals and blocky figure shaping, seeing an assassin take action in this setting gives the game a much more comical feel. This demakeover of Assassin’s Creed comes courtesy of YouTuber 98Demake, who spends quite a lot of time recreating games with PlayStation 1 quality visuals. The remake even has a PS1 style soundtrack to go along with the quirky graphics.
Some of the notable titles that 98Demake has recreated are Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto V, and The Last of Us, all of which are created using very similar constraints that were used back in the 90’s. It’s important to remember that demaking games isn’t a new thing, as others have gone and remade titles with older graphics, like 8-bit and 16-bit quality visuals. Even still, it’s definitely fun to see this game, which is normally touted for its beautiful visuals, looking a little more archaic in this day and age.
