For fans, and fanatics (like the author of this piece), news that Ashly Burch would not be returning for prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm was met with skepticism. Voice actress Rhianna DeVries has absolutely done an outstanding job capturing the character Chloe Price and has been well received by fans and newcomers to the franchise alike, but still – it just wasn’t the same. With the SAG-AFTRA strike having come to a successful close, Deck Nine has announced that Ashly Burch is returning to voice Chloe in the bonus episode of Before the Storm.

Not only is Burch returning for Chloe, but Hannah Telle will be reprising her role as Max Caulfield as well. The dynamic duo will be returning for a bonus episode included with the deluxe edition of the game. Deck Nine’s Jeff Litchford had this to say about the return of the voice actress:

The team here were thrilled to hear the news that both Hannah Telle and Ashly Burch were able to come back together again to voice Max and Chloe. We were really happy with Rhianna DeVrie’s performance as Chloe in Before the Storm and the fan reaction to her has been great, she’ll continue to work closely with us as part of a really close team we have created.”

The news about Ashly Burch comes as an overall surprise, however, it is likely very welcomed by the fan base. According to Deck Nine, this will be the last time the franchise sees these characters together. There is, as of yet, no release date scheduled for the bonus episode of Before the Storm but fans can definitely expect it early in the new year.
