Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Adding Swimming, New Characters, And More (VIDEO)

Animal Crossing New Horizons Summer Update Wave 1

With the vast majority of people stuck in quarantine over the last few months, and a good portion of them playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are always looking to when Nintendo will release new content for the title. That said, the first wave of the free summer update is just around the corner and it features a plethora of fun things for all to do.

In a video released by the Animal Crossing Twitter account, fans are able to get a look at what the summer update will contain. The first notable feature highlighted is the ability to go swimming. That’s right, players will soon be able to jump off of their islands and into the ocean to find new creatures and even encounter some new characters. Of course, new creatures means players will be able to make new donations to their museums.

There will even be new DIY recipes that appear to be based on things found in the ocean. In addition to this, upcoming update will only be the first wave for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, which is set to arrive on July 3rd. The second wave of the free summer update will be launching at some point in early August.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available on Nintendo Switch. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
