Among Us Airship Map Release Date Revealed

Empires have risen and fallen since the original announcement of the next Among Us map, The Airship, based on the Henry Stickmin games. Just kidding, it’s only been a few months, but still. Our wait seems to finally be at an end, as Innersloth has announced the official release date of the highly anticipated map.

In a new blog post over on the official Among Us website, Innersloth announced that The Airship map will officially be releasing on March 31st, 2021. Touted as being the game’s biggest map, it’ll feature some new gameplay mechanics such as the dreaded moving platform, so those looking to eat their friends or simply survive long enough to complete their tasks should take heed of it.

As for why it took so long for The Airship map to finally be released, Innersloth community manager Victoria Tran explains the ‘why’ a bit further down in the blog post. “Creating a map and updates isn’t as simple as creating one aspect of the game and throwing it onto the PC,” Tran explains. “Because our game is cross-platform, it means EVERYTHING needs to work on as many devices as possible. (Every kind of smartphone and its various versionsconsole, etc.) You may have noticed most modifications to the game focus on just PC, as that makes development much easier.”

When a game becomes unexpectedly popular it’s great, but it brings a whole slew of other problems we were extremely new to, which I’ll outline below. That being said, we’re extremely grateful for all of the success we’ve found. The explanation of problems is just that – an explanation! Not a complaint. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives. ?”

The next Among Us map, The Airship, releases on March 31st, 2021. The game is currently available for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Android & iOS devices.
