Aladdin Director Wants Tom Hardy to Play Jafar in Live-Action Film
One of Disney’s latest live-action remakes is going to be the 1992 classic animated film Aladdin, and Guy Ritchie is directing it. Although the cast has not been decided yet, rumor says that the Aladdin Director would like Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) to play the villain Jafar. According to a source,
Guy is a huge fan of Tom’s work and securing him would be a major coup. There have been conversations and, although nothing is set in stone and things are subject to change, he’s certainly one of Guy’s favored choices.”
Just because the Aladdin Director wants him, of course, doesn’t mean it is guaranteed that Hardy will do it. The source seems positive that there is a good chance though, because they said, “It just depends on schedules whether he’ll be able to sign up.” No one else has been mentioned to play any other characters, but there’s another rumor that Princess Jasmine will be played by singer Jade Thirlwall and that Will Smith might play the Genie.
I personally can not picture it myself, but people should watch a movie before they judge it, right? Maybe? What do you think? Is the Aladdin Director crazy or do you agree with his choice? Should Tom Hardy be considered for such a role?
