Agents of Mayhem Launch Date Announced with a Brand New Trailer (VIDEO)

The Agents of Mayhem launch date has been announced alongside a brand new trailer from Volition, the makers behind the well-known open world action-adventure series Saint’s Row. As you can probably tell, purple is the main theme with very similar overarching design patterns. It helps to explain that the whole game takes place in the world of Saint’s Row too. The “protagonists” and main antagonist sound a lot like the makings for a new Cartoon Network series, though it may just have been purposely advertised as such. With the dramatic, deep voiced narrator with slightly cheesy lines and several panned shots of the heroes, and punchlines. Take a look at the trailer below and you’ll see what I mean:

In 2017, Persephone Brimstone gathered an unruly band of misfits to take on the evil Dr. Babylon and his criminal LEGION. These men and women escaped a life of certain oppression to the soul underground. Today, funded by Ultor, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you want bad versus evil, if you want more fun per square mile, maybe you should play Agents of Mayhem.

Much like Saint’s Row, Agents of Mayhem is supposed to be an open world action-adventure game. According to the official website for AoM, the world has been taken over by LEGION (The League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations) which is being led by Dr. Babylon. A woman by the name of Persephone Brimstone used her resources to gather the best of the best of criminals to take the evil doers down. It just so happens that they were criminals at one time and it doesn’t sound like their bad streak is gone – just being directed in a different route.

Volition’s Agents of Mayhem launch is set in August 2017, but a more specific date has not been announced. Presumably, as time ticks closer and closer, more will be revealed. If gamers decide to pre-order, there are day one offers that include cosplay skins of 6 different agents. The Day One Edition also includes a “Legal Action Pending” DLC. The game will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

What do you think of the new title by Volition and Deep Silver? Would you purchase and play this?
