While Sword and Shield will not be the first Pokemon game to hit the Nintendo Switch, it will be the first main-stay entry to be hitting this console. Compared to the Let’s Go games that were released last fall, players can expect many more features that were not included in the last game simply because it wasn’t its own adventure. For example, this includes held items, abilities, breeding, and many other features that players are used to experiencing within this franchise.
We will also see three brand new starting Pokémon:
- Grookey, the Chimp
- Grass type that is described as mischievous and full of curiosity.
- Scorbunny, the Rabbit P
- Fire type that is described as always running about bursting with energy.
- Sobble, the Water Lizard
- Water type that is described as being a bit timid, shooting out attacks as it hides in the water.
