Fallout 76 Beta Test Begins Player Selection This Fall

Fallout 76

Bethesda’s E3 presentation was loaded with surprises with fans excited over Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, and Fallout 76. Of course, the decision to make the game online and multiplayer had many fans concerned that the title would lack the iconic qualities of the franchise. While Todd Howard has done his best to calm these concerns, there’s truly nothing like a beta test to give fans a first-hand look at what’s coming.

Fallout 76 is already granting players access to the beta if they’ve pre-ordered the game. The beta will start on Xbox One, and an expanding player selection will begin in the Fall. Bethesda revealed in a recent forum post how the process is going to work:

Starting in October we’ll be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from a participating retailer to enter our B.E.T.A. We’ll start small and grow over time as we prepare for launch. Be sure you’ve read our F.A.Q., for details on how to redeem your B.E.T.A. code and other important details.”

According to Bethesda, everyone who has pre-ordered Fallout 76 from participating retailers will get to participate in the beta. Details beyond this, at the moment, are pretty thin in part because things are still changing as the team continues their work. Many questions fans have submitted are expected to be answered at the Fallout 76 panel at this years QuakeCon.

QuakeCon will take place from August 9th through the 12th with plenty of exciting reveals and details to follow. Fallout 76 is expected to release on November 14th for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The beta is expected to begin in October, leaving a narrow window for fixes and may mean that the beta has more to do with testing servers.
