Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn Collector’s Edition Announced (VIDEO)
The original Shaq Fu game from the 16-bit era is notorious among gamers as being possibly one of the worst licensed video games ever, if not one of the worst games of all time. Shaquille O’Neill himself wanted to clear his name in the minds of gamers, thus he began the Kickstarter campaign for a new Shaq Fu game to atone for the previous one. After years of development, the game was finally confirmed to be arriving next month, and now a new Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn collector’s edition has been announced to add to the game’s fanfare.
Wired Productions released the listings for the Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn collector’s edition for each game platform that the game will be available on. These will include a PC version, as well as versions for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. The collector’s edition includes a copy of the game, plus the following items: a t-shirt, snapback hat, Shaq Fu artbook, a vinyl single, a Shaq Shimmy lenticular art card and a Shaq Fu bag. For a closer look at all these items, check out the reveal video above.
Pre-orders for the collector’s editions are available now, and fans are encouraged to act fast as only 500 of the collector’s editions have been made. As a special bonus, 10 of the 500 collector’s editions will be autographed by Shaq himself at random. Each collector’s edition sells for $106.99, and will ship on the game’s official release date, June 5th. There is also an option to buy all of the items included with the collector’s edition without a copy of the game for $78.99.
These items certainly seem to be of decent quality, and hopefully the final game exceeds the quality even more. At the very least, it couldn’t possibly be worse than the SNES/Genesis game.
