It’s nearly been a year since Telltale Games announced the sequel to 2013’s The Wolf Among Us. Since then, fans have been patiently awaiting any information the studio has to offer. That being said, it may be a little disappointing to learn of the recent news to come out of Telltale: The Wolf Among Us 2 has been delayed.

Originally set to arrive later this year, The Wolf Among Us 2 will now be release in 2019. Telltale posted a letter to Mundies on their website, stating that the game has been pushed back “as the result of a few fundamental changes here at Telltale since we first announced the game last summer.” They continued:

“Most importantly, we’re committed to exploring new ways to tell our stories. Taking this extra time will allow us not only to focus on quality but also to experiment and iterate in order to craft something truly special.

Ultimately our goal is to deliver an experience deserving of the passion you’ve consistently shown for The Wolf Among Us, and these extra months will give us the time we need to do our best work. We’re extremely enthusiastic about how the game is progressing so far, and we can’t wait to dig even deeper.”

It’s always a bummer when a game is delayed, but it’s usually a good thing when this happens. It shows that the studio cares about their projects and are willing to admit when it isn’t ready. We may have to wait for the sequel to arrive, but that will give us more time to go back and play the first season. For more on the 2013 title, check out the following:

The Wolf Among Us is currently available on Mac, PC, PlayStation (3, 4, and Vita), and Xbox (360 and One), as well as iOS and Android devices.
