The Single Player RPG “Pathfinder Kingmaker” is Coming, Inspired by Classics Like Baldur’s Gate (VIDEO)
Currently being funded on Kickstarter, Owlcat Games and Paizo publishing is on a mission to bring about a game of epic storytelling and nostalgia with Pathfinder Kingmaker. As a single-player RPG, the main premise is still very much Pathfinder, but the overall atmosphere and feel is inspired by classics like Baldur’s Gate. The developers have teamed up with Chris Avellone, a designer who has worked on titles like Fallout: New Vegas, Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights 2, Planescape: Torment, and many others. He will be working on Pathfinder Kingmaker as the narrative designer and his name alone may have brought the fans flocking! Check out the launch trailer below for a general look at the game:
In the north lies the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.”
