World War Z Game Will Include Giant Hordes Of Zombies, Destructible Objects, And Much More
From the same developer that created Quake Champions, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, God Mode and many others is the upcoming World War Z game. Since the original reveal last year during the game awards, little if anything at all has been shared since then, but Saber Interactive has decidedly broke the silence in the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine. To shed some more light on the unique survival co-op game based on the titular live-action film, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch shared a few more details that can only mean a chaotically good time.
According the interview with Karch, the World War Z game can include up to a thousand zombies actively on screen at once. So, not only will the players feel the pressure of staying and keeping those around them alive, but it will certainly boost that adrenaline! These zombies aren’t the idle type and as soon as they sense you, they’ll amass into a fearsome horde. Be careful though, they’re fast and willing to trample over other zombies just to get a taste.
There will also be destructible objects and environments that will come in handy when facing enemies as well. An even more challenging aspect that will be part of the game is “procedural behavior”, which will result in no two games being be alike. That supposes the AI learns and is intent on making the player’s escape that much more difficult. As for the premise of the entire game itself, here’s the official summary from the developer:
World War Z is a name synonymous with heart-pounding fear and action, and we’re excited to finally capture that energy in a fast-paced and gruesome experience crafted specifically for modern consoles and PC.
World War Z’s co-op campaign focuses on unique survivor stories and missions around the globe, including New York, Moscow and Jerusalem. Use traps, barriers and the environment strategically to stay alive while unleashing a storm of firepower with a variety of weapons on the unrelenting hordes of the undead.”
World War Z is expected to launch sometime in 2018 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. What do you think about a World War Z game following the popular film?
