WATCH: Is This The Weirdest Xbox Ad Of All Time? – Let’s Take A Look

Weirdest Xbox Ad

As 2017 comes to an end, gamers are looking forward to a new year filled with exciting announcements, reveals, and more. While new consoles aren’t likely to make an appearance in 2018, ones that have shown up in recent years have always been accompanied with beautiful advertisements showing off the sleek, modern technology. That being said, let’s take a look back at what is quite possibly the weirdest Xbox ad of all time.

The “Life is Short, Play More” TV spot not only launched the Microsoft console to the forefront of wild ads, but it also showed a human being thrust into the air as a baby, only to go through an entire life while airborne. As said naked human soars through the air, screams escape him until he eventually ages and comes crashing down into a grave. Is this the weirdest Xbox ad ever? Probably, but you’ll have to watch it for yourself to find out:

It’s certainly an interesting take on the “carpe diem” aphorism, but kind of an effective one. Life can be rather short, so why not make the best of it and play more video games, right? For some people, this ad may be new, but for those of us who have been kicking around since the days of the early internet, no streaming services, and televisions that were more than 2 inches thick, it’s another sweet taste of glorious nostalgia.

While the video above may contain the weirdest Xbox ad ever, it’s possible that other companies hold top honors in the overall category. PlayStation has certainly had some wild advertisements over the years, and Nintendo…well, they’ll always be Nintendo. Check out some of the craziest ads from over the years below:

There’s no denying that ads in the gaming world have been strange for some time, but I guess companies will do whatever it takes to sell their products: Even if it involves watching a Lynchian acid trip or Bill Gates himself holding an Xbox controller and a burger. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we dig up some more art from past decades, and for other gaming news, check out the following:

What say you, gamers? Do you think the “Life is Short, Play More” TV spot above is the weirdest Xbox ad of all time, or is there another contender? Are you a fan of the older commercials, or do you prefer the new ones that just show off some gameplay and the technology involved?
