PUBG PS4 Talks Once Again On The Table, Team Opens Up About Sony’s “Very Strict” Policy
There is a lot of talk surrounding PUBG, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and how the game continues to smash records left and right. Now that the game is out of early access on Steam, and is now available for Xbox One players, it’s only natural that the Sony side of gaming are curious as to whether or not they’ll get their chance to get that desirable winner, winner chicken dinner. The good news, is yes – the team is interested. The bad news, it doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon.
Chang Han Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp, opened up recently about working with the PlayStation brand and whether or not the game will remain and Xbox One/PC exclusive:
As it’s going to be an exclusive title on Xbox One for some time, we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now. If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform.
Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality. However, PS is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took 6 months more to launch even when it was already completed. We are still in the stage of learning the console development environment and console gamers’ taste. We need to think about other platforms after evaluating and completing the Xbox One version first.”
It makes sense that they’d want to expand the PUBG brand even more, and tackling the PS4 crowd would do just that. But, quality standards are in place – and to be fair, that’s a very valid reason to hold off title acquirement. For everyone else however, PUBG is available for Xbox One and PC through Steam now.
What do you think about Kim’s thoughts on timed exclusivity? How are you enjoying the PUBG takeover? Sound off with your PUBG PS4 thoughts in the comment section below, and don’t forget to check us out over on Twitter for gaming and entertainment news live 24/7!

Navy Veteran with a penchant for the FPS genre, Chewy has all aspects of the gaming community covered. Don't expect to see him on a console any time soon, however - though he has experience in all platforms, the PC Master Race has a firm hold on him.
