Ready or Not reveal trailer

In terms of first-person shooters, there is certainly no shortage. With annual releases from the likes of the Call of Duty or Battlefield franchises, it can be rather difficult to establish yourself amongst the big dogs. That’s when developers attempt to mix things up by setting the game in a different era, focusing on one part of a larger battle, or any number of things. However, it’s franchises like Rainbow Six and SWAT that have paved the way for what is seen in the Ready or Not reveal trailer.

Ready or Not is a tactical FPS from VOID Interactive. It has been in development since June 2016 and aspires to be “true-to-life” as well as being able to “be held up to the greats.” With there being a plethora of video games to compete to compete against, these are some pretty big goals to think of. However, that certainly is not a bad thing because it is usually the driving force behind the titles that do rise to the top. The description of the game can be see below, and check out the Ready or Not reveal trailer that follows to see if this FPS will be the cream of the crop or left in the dust:

Ready or Not is a tactical first person shooter which places you in the boots of an elite SWAT team, tasked with diffusing hostile situations in intense, claustrophobic environments. It’s set in a nondescript modern America, where an income disparity between the classes have become unsustainable and the country has been plunged into havoc.”

The tactical FPS will allow gamers to collect seven of their friends and kick down some doors in co-op. It will also feature PvP and single-player modes if cooperation is not your cup of tea. These, of course, aren’t the only things that Ready or Not will be offering its players. A myriad of features are detailed on the developer’s blog, but you can check out a list below:

  • Incremental lean system
  • Incremental Door control system
  • Modular speed control
  • Simulated and detailed third person inventory
  • Convex collision armour, allowing for precise protection
  • Projectile dynamics, bullets penetrate, ricochet, and deteriorate
  • Responsive damage system and effects
  • Visceral gore
  • Highly detailed weapons, characters and environments
  • Massive selection of items
  • Fully supported competitive servers based on Amazon Gamelift API
  • Plans to support squad competitive play
  • Tactical Analysis

What the Ready or Not reveal trailer lacks in gameplay footage, it more than makes up for in terms of showing off the ambition behind the project. A “true-to-life” tactical FPS would be great for gamers, and it very well could lead this title straight to the top when it is released. Of course, when this game will arrive is still unknown, but now that the information is out there about its existence, it is only a matter of time before Don’t Feed the Gamers knows more.

What say the gamers of the world? Would another FPS be welcomed with open arms, or is the market entirely too saturated at this point? What do you thing of the Ready or Not reveal trailer?
