Sony Committed To Communicating Better With Fans, Says PlayStation Boss
Despite its current position at the head of the pack, Sony has recently proven that the company still has a long way to go in terms of communicating with its fan base, thanks in no small part to the flip-floppiness of its stance on cross-platform play. Thankfully, the company knows that communication is something it needs to work on, as confirmed by PlayStation boss Shawn Layden.
In a recent episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Layden opened up about the direction Sony is heading in, stating that the company is working on new ways of communicating with its fans and, hopefully, offering a bit more transparency. “I think we should say that part of our commitment is that, going forward, we’re going to amp that up, we’re going to crank that communication up,” Layden began.
We’re going to find more ways to get our message out and get a view into what our activities are and what our hopes and dreams are, if you will, for PlayStation and for WorldWide Studios”
Sony is, for its part, proving that it is finally listening to its fan base. Alongside the recent acceptance of cross-platform play, the company also revealed that PlayStation 4 users will soon be able to change their PSN Online ID’s, a feature that has been highly requested by fans for years. With the PlayStation 5 reportedly on the horizon, Sony’s plan of communicating better with its player base should do well to keep the company in the lead in the ongoing console wars.
