Project Scorpio Games Ready on Day One are Crucial to Launch Says Xboss Phil Spencer

The main focuses for Xbox this year are first party games and Project Scorpio. Most likely, both will have their fair share of the limelight during E3, which is just around the corner. Equally as likely, the console will be revealed in some of its unfinished glory during the Summer conference, but will not make a debut until the holiday season. Anticipating the eventual release, a user on Twitter asked Xbox Boss Phil Spencer if there will be Project Scorpio games available on launch day. “Having our [first party] games ready for Scorpio is critical,” Spencer said in response.

Within the context of the situation, Spencer seems to directly answers the question and confirms day one game launches will happen with the console. His choice of words can be deceiving. However, it wouldn’t quite make sense if playable titles were ready and standing by, but not ready enough to launch alongside Project Scorpio. No games are purposely revealed or confirmed although it would be nice to get a couple triple-A titles to keep players at bay

More announcements are sure to be released as we inch closer and closer to E3, but the big kahuna won’t show until later. Keep in mind that just because Microsoft is releasing a new console it does not mean that Xbox One becomes obsolete. In fact, all games and accessories utilized for the latter will be compatible.
