PlayStation Announces Two Free PS4 Games Via Sony’s Play At Home Initiative
Sony is once again urging gamers and non-gamers alike to stay at home to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and this time around, the PlayStation company is offering some free games to help aid in the cause.
Sony announced today that its new Play at Home initiative is kicking off tomorrow, with the company offering two PlayStation 4 games for free to help folks stuck at home. While Sony typically chucks out a couple free games every month as part of its PlayStation Plus subscription program, the new initiative will be offering free games with absolutely no strings (other than, you know, having a PlayStation 4).
As shown above, the Play at Home initiative free games are Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Both games will be available to snag from April 15 at 8pm PDT through May 5, 2020 at 8pm PDT, about three weeks. Here’s SIE President & CEO Jim Ryan’s description of both titles:
“For most of you, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will need no introduction. This three-game collection from the masters at Naughty Dog includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception—all meticulously remastered for PS4. We can’t imagine a better time for globe-trotting adventures with Nathan Drake, an iconic cast of characters, and thrilling treasure-hunting action gameplay.
Then there’s Journey, a beautiful, celebrated adventure that is as moving as it is mysterious. The game’s life-affirming message is timeless, and perhaps more important now than ever before. “
As mentioned, the first Play at Home initiative with free PlayStation 4 games kicks off April 15th at 8pm PDT and runs through May 5, 2020, at 8pm PDT.
