WATCH: Limited Edition PlayStation-Themed Basketball Shoes Unveiled By Nike

PlayStation-themed basketball Shoes

If you’ve ever looked at your PlayStation console and thought that you would like to wear it on your feet, you’re in luck! Nike has partnered with NBA star Paul George and Sony to produce a limited edition pair of PlayStation-themed basketball shoes, and they are perfect for athletes, gamers, and anyone that cares to obtain them.

Featuring a sleek design, the PlayStation-themed basketball shoes, dubbed the PG2, come with everything from light-up symbols on the tongues to a color scheme resembling that of the action buttons on a PS controller. Speaking of which, the symbols that make up those four buttons(square, triangle, circle, x) are embossed on the leather that wraps around the shoes. Check out the foot-holders in the video below:

For anyone that follows professional basketball in the US, many of you likely know that Paul George, who currently plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is an avid gamer when he’s not on the court. When speaking about his passion for gaming and Sony’s consoles, he had this to say:

I just had a knack for video games. As soon as I discovered PlayStation, I was throwing hints here and there to my dad — cutting out the clipping of a video game, cutting out the clippings of the PlayStation, leaving it on his dresser. I remember on Christmas morning, I unwrapped my gift and sure enough, it was the PS2. I’ve been a PlayStation guy ever since.”

Two neat features that really stand out are the light-up logos on the tongues and the PSN code on the back of one of the shoes. The lights, which are powered by a self-contained battery that only lasts for roughly 150 hours, are turned on by the power button on the back of the tongue. When pressing it, a small vibration will be felt, which is meant to mimic the sensation from a DualShock controller. As for the PSN code, it will unlock the dynamic PS4 theme that the starry graphic featured on and in the shoes came from when entered.

The PG2 is expected to arrive in very limited quantities on February 10, so snatch them up before they are gone forever. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news, check out the following:
