With E3 close at hand, developers are starting to share information and trailers for some of their titles. Whether this is to save room for some of the more anticipated games coming soon or to ramp up excitement isn’t clear, but at this point, does it matter? Although the trailer is mostly cinematic, the video sets the tone and gives players an idea of the kind of story they can expect from Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown. While it may be questioned whether or not the gameplay is going to be up to par, it is likely that the studio is holding out for that glimpse of the game until E3. The video features various settings that players will be able to engage in aerial combat. Whether over vast oceans of water or sand or over sprawling cities, there is sure to be no shortage of action in this game. All in all, Project Aces latest title seems to be setting up to be a crowd pleaser.

While the franchise has been known to alternate between real world settings and the “Strangereal” alternate universe, that won’t be the case this time around. Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown will be in an earth-like universe where developers can play with some of the world’s history and settings. This may offer players a unique experience and one that could be much more exciting.

Ace Combat 7 was expected to release this year, but was pushed back to sometime in 2018. Earlier in the year, the developer’s director, Kazutoki Kono, apologized that they would be postponing the release in order to reach the games full potential.
