The popular Dungeons & Dragons based MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) Neverwinter is rolling out a free update that contains a ton of new adventures and features. The update is titled Shroud of Souls and is expected to hit Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles in June. See the details below!

The primary quest in Shroud of Souls is to stop a new enemy from raising a devastating army. The antagonist is a dragonborn necromancer by the name of Morlanth, who has escaped captivity from beneath the River District. Immediately following her escape, Morlanth releases a phantasmal force known as the Shroud of Souls that will do her bidding. Her goal is to seek out powerful spirits to join the ranks of her deadly army. It is up to the players to end the madness and stop Morlanth at any cost. An excerpt from the official synopsis reads:

Shroud of Souls will take adventurers to Evernight, a twisted reflection of Neverwinter inhabited by both unsavory living residents and the undead. Heroes will also enter the Shard of Night, a spire from the Plane of Shadows belonging to the Netherese.”

Aside from the new quests, a new Loadout system will be implemented within the game. This will allow players to create different character equipment loadouts for PvE, PvP, Dungeons, or any other situation a player may need to set up for. Players will be able to quickly swap their character’s loadout to suit the needs of their current objective.

For your guilds, a new feature called The Great Hall will grant players the ability to create a customizable gathering place within a Stronghold. Guild members will be able to decorate the Great Hall as they see fit. Hopefully, there aren’t any decoration conflicts that lead to a total dismantlement of your guild.

Guilds will also have the opportunity to take part in a new event which will test the teamwork as they protect their Stronghold from attacks. Your faction will be faced with hordes of bandits that are attempting to steal the building supplies required to uphold the Stronghold. After five waves of enemies, players will be given the option to either retreat and collect their rewards or continue on fighting stronger waves of enemy bandits. Every fifth wave will increasingly get more difficult to beat, but the rewards for succeeding will also increase.

Shroud of Souls for Neverwinter is slated to become available to download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 20. PC players can check out the latest update now.
