Hitman 3 PC Players Will Not Have To Repurchase Hitman 2, Says Developer

Hitman 3 PC Epic Games Store Hitman 2

Before launching next week, Hitman 3 caused a bit of an uproar with those who intend to play the game on PC. With the next entry coming to Epic Games Store instead of Steam, many were worried that they could not carry over locations from previous titles to the new one. While this was initially the plan, IO Interactive and Epic Games have confirmed that they are working hard to make sure that is not the case.

Taking to Twitter, the developers at IOI informed fans that they “guarantee” players will not need to repurchase Hitman 2 to bring the locations to Hitman 3 on PC. “We are continuing to work on a solution with our partners to allow PC players who own Hitman 1 or Hitman 2 to import locations from those games into Hitman 3 at no additional cost,” reads the post. “We guarantee that players will NOT need to repurchase the games.”

In addition to this, IOI noted that those who pre-purchase Hitman 3, or purchase within the first 10 days after release, will receive the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass free of charge. Of course, progression will be carried over to the upcoming title for those who previously played, but only from the same platform. No word has been mentioned of when the solution will arrive for those who want to import locations, but we should hopefully hear more in the coming weeks.

Hitman 3 is officially set to arrive on January 20th for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and new-gen consoles. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
