Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Hints at New Game Announcement for 2017

Hironobu Sakaguchi

We’re just two days away from the new year, and already the gaming repertoire of 2017 looks like it is going to be incredible. One such possibility that has caught our attention is the likelihood that a new title will be announced by Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. The announcement was made during an interview with 4Gamer, where Sakaguchi stated that his hope is to reveal the new title sometime in the upcoming months.

While this information is exciting to hear and he certainly seemed enthusiastic about his upcoming reveal, he did not go into detail on what that title could possibly be, or when the official announcement will take place. Sakaguchi, known as the Father of Final Fantasy, has consistently produced top-quality work, so while we don’t have a lot of information to go off of just yet, we can only wait eagerly for whatever title he plans on revealing.

Earlier this year, Silicon Studio also announced its future collaboration with Mistwalker, the company that Sakaguchi works as CEO for. There has been no announcement on whether or not this future collaboration and Sakaguchi’s mystery title are the same game, although we certainly couldn’t complain if that was the case. Silicon Studio has made a name for itself producing the highly popular title, Bravely Default, so if they have decided to team up with Hironobu’s team to create a brand new adventure for us, we can only expect great things to occur. To keep yourself in the know, make sure you check back with us frequently as we continue to follow this developing story, and check out this latest article on Final Fantasy as we wait for the new year to roll around.

So what do you think of Hironobu Sakaguchi’s announcement? Will you be waiting eagerly for whatever game he has in store for us? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and game on!
