Original Guilty Gear To Receive Nintendo Switch, PS4, And PC Port
Arc System Works, the powerhouse Japanesese developer and publisher is working on a port for an older title from one of their their most well-known franchises, Guilty Gear. Characters from this series have crossed over to other games under their care such as BlazBlue’s adorable yet androgynous fighter, Bridget. Just recently announced during a late night livestream, it seems they’re now working on a huge project to port the original Guilty Gear for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC as a commemorative endeavor to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary.
First released in 1998, Guilty Gear was a fighter title that was featured for the original PlayStation console. Other recognizable faces from the franchise include Sol Badguy, Axl Low, Ky Kiske, Chip Zanuff among others. A long list of sequels have come and gone since the late 90s, as the latest evolution titled Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 release in 2017 for PC, PS3, and PS4.
In related news, Arc System Works is also working on bringing Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R to the Nintendo Switch eShop this year as well, which marks the very first of the fighting game series to arrive on the hybrid console. It will feature the entire 25 character roster, a host of game modes, the RELOAD soundtrack by Shin Hae Chul, and even online multiplayer.
