God of War Director Details Relationship Between Kratos and His Son (VIDEO)

God of War

God of War is set to release at some point next year, which means it’s only a matter of time before players get to step back into the role of Kratos. However, this time around, gamers will be accompanied by Atreus, Kratos’ son. In a recent podcast, game director Cory Barlog touched on the relationship between the two characters.

According to Barlog, who is also a writer on the game, Atreus isn’t going to be as much dead weight as one would think. After all, being the spawn of Kratos surely has to come with its perks. It turns out that the young child is rather experienced in magic incantations, which allows for him to be of use while solving some serious puzzles. While he may not be well versed in the use of a bow and arrow, his summons will certainly aid Kartos in his efforts. Check out the full podcast in the video below:

Cory also noted that Atreus’ magic isn’t only for solving puzzles, but can also be used to make others in the game assist Kratos. Whether it’s one person or an entire army, it seems that there won’t be any limit as to how many people can be controlled. No examples were provided by Barlog, but one can’t help but get excited to see how the relationship between father and son play out.

God of War doesn’t have a specific release date set, but it will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 in 2018. Stay tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news, check out the following:
