GameStop Expo 2017 Will Be “Bigger and Better” Than Last Year – Here’s All the Details

The GameStop Expo is quickly approaching for what will be its 6th year and the company promises this year will be amazing. The one day event is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th and will be located in the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The venue is pretty big with a floor space of 250 Thousand square feet, so bring all your friends to the party! On June 1st the tickets go on sale, $40 for General Admission and $110 for VIP passes. Gamers who choose the VIP treatment will receive entrance to the VIP lounge, early admittance to the show floor, “exclusive swag”, and entry to an Injustice 2 tournament. If the price is a little out of your range, you can get afternoon only tickets for access from 3PM till closing for only $20.

Having the GameStop Expo on a Sunday is a first for the event since it began back in 2011, the company hopes this will make things easier for gamers to attend due to busy schedules. According to GameStop, “some of the video game industry’s top game title and hardware developers” will be there to show off, but they did not go into detail about exactly WHO will be there just yet. The tournament mentioned above is the ESL Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes tournament finals and players of the tournament will be competing for that cash money. If you didn’t splurge on that VIP ticket, don’t fret – expo goers can still get in to the competition for just $10 after a ticket purchase and the best part is that all of the proceeds go to the St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s yearly fundraiser Play Live.

GameStop Expo

The companies Merchandising V.P. Bob Puzon said about GameStop Expo 2017,

“Every year our customers ask us to make the GameStop Expo bigger and better. We have delivered on their request by bringing our Expo back to the entertainment capital of the world, opening our doors for the first time on Sunday, playing host to one of the biggest non-pro gaming tournaments in the industry, and allowing fans the opportunity to purchase some of their favorite novelty items on the show floor.”
