Pro Gamer Loses Contract After Accidentally Streaming Domestic Violence Incident (VIDEO)

Domestic Violence Incident

While livestreaming, people are putting themselves in front of anybody with a computer, internet connection, and a will to watch. In doing so, those who choose to broadcast their gameplay and live feed to the world run the risk of accidentally presenting something they might not want viewers to see. Most streamers likely worry about saying the wrong thing or embarrassing themselves with a silly action of sorts, but it unfortunately doesn’t stop there. In the case of pro gamer Li “Vasilii” Wei Jun, a recent livestream of a League of Legends match captured a domestic violence incident.

According to a translation on Reddit, Li’s girlfriend was attempting to calm him down. She was telling him that he was being too serious during the stream and that he shouldn’t blame his teammates and fans for things going poorly in-game. The situation turned very quickly as Li then began to flip out and wreck the area in which he was streaming. The camera lands on the ground, and sounds of something or someone being hit can be heard, followed by his girlfriend crying. The video containing the domestic violence incident can be seen below, but viewers be warned as it is disturbing:

Shortly following the incident, League of Legends team Newbee called out Li’s actions and stated that his contract had been terminated “for unprofessional and immature behavior.” Later expanding upon their decision, they sent out the following:

Both Li and his girlfriend updated their Weibo accounts, with Li asking why people love seeing him losing his cool. He did not make mention of the domestic violence incident. On the other hand, Li’s girlfriend stated that he did not hit her, but only threw a big tantrum. In the video, however, she can be heard saying “You beat me for this?” Police were contacted during the stream, but his girlfriend mentioned that she told them to leave when they arrived.

Whatever comes of this, Li’s actions were unacceptable in every sense of the word. His fans were quick to express their disappointment and disgust with his behavior, even calling for his career to be ended.
