Gabe Newell Hosting Reddit AMA Tomorrow

Gabe Newell, also known as Gaben, is one of the founding fathers, and president, of Valve. Steam is the biggest gaming platform out there, allowing people to keep all their games stored in one library. It allows players to buy games (often on sale), browse games (thousands upon thousands), and play with friends easily. It’s easily one of Valve’s biggest achievements, along with the Half-Life series, Portal, and DotA 2.

Recently, there have been a lot of reports flying around about Half-Life 3. Game Informer had an interview with an alleged anonymous Valve employee. The opinions and statements from this anonymous person could not be verified, but they claimed that Half-Life 3 does not exist, has never existed, and never will exist. They also claimed the same to be true for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. This was heartbreaking to read for all fans of the series. But before that, there were other rumors that Half-Life 3 could have been a thing, and that it could have been an RTS.

Well it’s now been confirmed that Gabe Newell will be hosting an AMA on Reddit tomorrow. There will be no doubt that people will raise questions about these two rumours, and ask about Half-Life 3 in general,  but whether he answers or not will be another story. The AMA will take place on The Gaben subreddit at 3pm PT/11pm GMT tomorrow (January 17), and was confirmed by the subreddit’s moderator Jedi Burrell, as well as the Steam subreddit moderator R3TR1X.

It will be interesting to see what gets asked, and what he chooses to answer. No doubt, most of the questions will revolve around the Steam UI update, DotA 2 and the recent 7.00 mega patch, or the Half-Life series. Luckily, there will be plenty to talk about, however, and everyone will be looking forward to getting their questions answered (hopefully). Don’t forget to come back after the AMA where we’ll report on all the big questions and what Gaben has to say.

Sound off in the comments section below and tell us your thoughts and if you’ll be there participating. Is there anything you just need to hear from the big man himself? Maybe there are questions you’re looking to have answered? Let us know!
