Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Nostalgia-Heavy Box Art Revealed
The placeholder box art for the Final Fantasy VII Remake has officially gone the way of the dodo, being swapped out with the real thing thanks to a recent reveal from the folks at Square Enix. Announced amidst the various game reveals at TGS 2019, Square Enix unveiled the gorgeous, nostalgically-charged box art that will be gracing stores shelves early next year.
Earlier this month, Square Enix released a recreation of the original Final Fantasy VII box art for our viewing pleasure. It appears that the newly revealed official box art for the Final Fantasy VII Remake was made with that art firmly in mind. Check it out below:

Pretty awesome, isn’t it? Not only is it an epic recreation of the original, but it also features some unique details, such as the two slots filled with materia just above the hilt on Cloud’s Buster Sword. The box art reveal was announced after new footage from the remake was shown at TGS 2019. This footage showed off plenty of previously promised aspects that fans have been looking forward to, such as our first look at The Turks, the Summons Shiva and Ifrit, and more. Don’t even get us started on the Mark Hamill-voiced Don Corneo.
Final Fantasy VII Remake releases on March 3, 2020 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
