The Evil Within 2 First-Person Mode Arrives With Latest Update (VIDEO)

The Evil Within 2 First-Person Mode

When it comes to creepy, horrific, and downright scary video games, there is typically one thing that can enhance that terrifying experience – seeing it through the eyes of the playable character. You know, as opposed to that magical floating camera that hangs around, capturing everything from behind. That being said, with the latest update for the game, The Evil Within 2 first-person mode is now a thing, and it is here to scare your pants off.

In a post on Bethesda’s website, they outline what went into creating the new first-person mode in The Evil Within 2. They were even kind enough to provide a video showing what players can expect with the new horrifying point of view. You can check that out below:

Right after The Evil Within 2 launched, inquisitive fans discovered something: a first-person mode that was limited to a specific part of the game’s story could be (with some finagling) extended to other areas of the game. The community began clamoring for this feature to be officially extended to the rest of the game, and the development team at Tango Gameworks has listened. The entirety of The Evil Within 2 can now be played in first-person on PS4, Xbox One and PC in a free update.”

In addition to the arrival of The Evil Within 2 first-person mode, Bethesda has decided that should anyone who doesn’t own the game want to purchase it, they can do so for 50% off. Gamers will need to be quick, however, as the sale (digital only) runs “through February 19 on Steam and February 20 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.” As for why they decided to bring the feature to the game, here is what they said:

We experimented a bit with first-person in the full game, but it was more of an afterthought and a little bit of playing around on our side, since we designed the game in third-person.

Some savvy users figured out a way to activate this mode outside of its intended area, and the reaction to it was pretty positive, so we said, “What the heck. Let’s put it in as a bonus for all platforms.” A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game’s situations through Sebastian’s eyes, it’s a really neat experience.”

The Evil Within 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with the free update containing the first-person mode now live on all platforms. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news going on right now, check out the following:
