The Elder Scrolls Online: Clockwork City Release Date Revealed

ESO Clockwork City 01

Popular MMO The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO) is already in its third year, and ZeniMax Online Studios just keeps pumping out the goods. Earlier this year the game’s Morrowind expansion released, and it looks like the next expansion is just around the corner; Clockwork City is due out this month on PC, then Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in November.

The latest expansion will cost 2,000 in-game crowns (which translates to about $20). Those that are ESO Plus members will receive the Clockwork City DLC for no extra cost. There will also be a Collector’s Bundle, which will include a new pet, a new mount, and five experience scrolls to be used in game. The collector’s bundle will cost 4,000 crowns in the Crown Store ($40).

According to the announcement, the new DLC will feature the beautiful mechanical Clockwork City found in Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, as well as a brand new standalone story. The campaign is “similar in size to the main quest lines found in the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild DLC game packs”. The official synopsis for the plot reads:

In ESO: Morrowindyou were introduced to the living god Vivec and his struggles against an unknown assailant. This time, it’s his fellow Tribune Sotha Sil who finds himself beset by an unknown threat. It’s up to you to join the ancient Telvanni sorcerer Divayth Fyr, track down a powerful artifact, and expose a Daedric conspiracy that could forever change the nature of the Clockwork City, the Tribunal, and Tamriel itself.”

A prologue to the Clockwork City story is available now in the base game. To check out the prologue:

Prominent diviners, scholars, and planar archaeologists are being killed by their own shadows, and it’s up to you to investigate these deadly assaults. To get started, travel to any local Mages Guild headquarters in Tamriel and find the note on a nearby table titled “Order of the Eye Dispatch”. Read the note to receive the quest “Of Knives and Long Shadows” and begin your new adventure.

Once complete, you will have the “Clockwork Obscuros” memento permanently added to your Collections UI as a reward!

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is available now on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The update goes live on PC and Mac on October 23rd, and console on November 7th.
