Dreams PS4 Testing “Business Uses” For Fan-Made Games

The Dreams beta is here and developer Media Molecule wants to see what players can dream up for uses outside of gaming. This week, the studio launched a “small beta evaluation trial” for the Dreams PS4 community asking players to show off their content for “business uses” outside of the game.

If any of this confuses you, that’s okay! This Dreams PS4 beta is in its exploratory stages. Seeing as this is only available for a limited group of people, the project is meant to help the team discover what they can do to improve the game as a platform for possibilities and opportunities as they grow. According to their blog post:

“We’ve had lots of questions from creators about using Dreams for viable business opportunities off PlayStation such as concept artwork. We welcome and encourage creators to do this, but it’s new territory for us. We’ve been busy behind the scenes mapping out how we can make it easier for creators to do this in the future. We are kicking this off with a beta evaluation, where creators can submit an application to use Dreams for a specific project.

“This is open to a limited group of users with the goal of learning how players want to use Dreams off PlayStation and how we may support this. If you’re applying, you will need to have a project in mind, a time frame and be willing to provide feedback to Media Molecule along the way (amongst other requirements outlined in the application).”

Whether it’s concept art, music videos, portfolios – whatever your personal goals take you in Dreams – it sounds like Media Molecule wants a diverse range of creators to give them feedback on what they can do to encourage and foster creativity in Dreams. With that said, Dreams does have a few limitations for the time being:
