Dragon Quest VR Announced With Brand New Trailer (VIDEO)

From the manufacturers of arcade games and attractions like Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, Dark Escape 4D, Star Wars Battle Pod, and many others comes Dragon Quest VR. Bandai Namco Amusement, a subsidiary of the publisher and developer by the same name, just announced the virtual reality version of this critically-acclaimed series. Although little in ways of actual gameplay footage was revealed, the team and series creator, Yuji Horii, are excited to present their latest work. Of course, they had to make a video to introduce the hard work they’ve put into developing it. Check out the trailer below:

This team takes the “old school” aspect of arcade gaming and teams it up with cutting-edge technology to bring a whole new experience to life. Arriving later this month, Dragon Quest VR should be available to play with use of a virtual reality headset. Gamers can play the game as usual, but it will be a much more immersive experience. Set up a party with your choice of priest, warrior, mage, or what have you with a variety of gear and weapons. In fact, it’s so realistic, Horii said it really felt like he was holding a sword and shield.

Unfortunately for now, this will only be available at a VR Zone located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, Japan beginning April 20th. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is expected to release in the West on September 4th, 2018 for PS4 and PC.
